Last week I hired some linen to a lovely young couple who were being married and they decided to DIY their reception. Their choice of venue was the Cloyna Hall situated about 10 minutes north of Murgon.... Cloyna is my childhood home and the hall is surrounded by what was previously the farm that I grew up on. I don't often get to take photo's of DIY's but Katelyn kindly offered for me to come out and take as many as I liked. So off I went on Saturday morning along an all too familiar road to snap some shots. Turning off the highway and down the hill towards the township itself you come to the hall which has been well maintained over the years - fresh paint, restumped and the grounds around are always mowed. Walking inside was such a delight as Nathan and Katelyn and family had done a wonderful job with the décor. Chair covers/sashes, tablecloths, hessian table runners and table skirting were all supplied by Extra Touch Designs and everything else was DIY by the bride and family. As I walked around the hall and eventually drove off so many emotions came flooding back of childhood memories that will remain embedded in my heart for a lifetime..... Cloyna West Road heading down the hill towards the hall Oh the memories of country dances, school functions, fete's, CWA meetings and the list goes on.... always puts a smile of my face. What a wonderful setting for a wedding - country style Purple and white with hessian table runners
